SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS The finished potholders measure 6 1/2" x 6 1/2 "

Recommended with this pattern

  • Scraps of fabric that measure at least 6 1/2" x 6 1/2 "
  • If you want to buy fabric to make these, you can make 6 potholder squares (or 3 complete potholders) out of 1/4 yard or 1 fat quarter.
  • Batting - any type will work, but insulated batting (also called Insulbrite) works the best. It's thin, lightweight, and deflects the heat to protect your hands. Yardage needed will depend on the width of the batting and how many potholders you want to make.

My name is Tanya and I am a self-proclaimed fabric addict with a life long love of fabric, sewing and clothing design. In high-school, I worked at a fabric store at nights and on the weekends. I spent so much of my paycheck on fabric (hey, I had an employee discount...I couldn't resist) that my parents were amazed that I saved anything for college. I have a degree in Clothing and Textiles and I've held several jobs in the apparel, fashion and textiles industries including sales, inspection, construction, alterations, costuming and custom sewing. All of my patterns are my original designs that are drawn, draped, and drafted by me. I'm doing what I love...could life be better?
