PATTERN DETAILS

This is a pattern for making two pot holders using the pockets from two pairs of jeans. I try to pick jeans that have pockets that are similar in size. It's perfectly fine to use pockets both with or without buttoned flaps! There are instructions for making pot holders with either type! One of the best things about this pattern is not only are your hands protected but your arms as well! Great for moving hot items that require your whole arm such as a casserole dish. Another great thing? Perfect for men and bar-b-ques! Very manly (with the right coordinating fabric)! And how fun to make something they can use that was made out of their old jeans (They've been asking what you're going to do with them -right?) This pattern shows you how to prepare the pockets and then it's just a matter of sewing around the edges and turning right side out like a pillow! The clear monofilament thread (resembles fishing line!) is used to close the seam and make it invisible. If you're not a fan of this thread, you can use a traditional cotton or poly. Makes a great housewarming gift, a gift for newlyweds, men who have everything (picture it with their favorite sports team fabric), and don't forget us woman! I hang mine over the door of the oven and use them every time I cook! Of course, mine have a nice girly fabric! Happy Sewing!! BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY zig zag stitch SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS You will have a set of two potholders when finished!
