Hi, My name is Cathy. Welcome to my pattern store. Sewing has been my passion from the age of 11 when I completed my first project. Coming from a family of 10 children, I learned I could make unique and inexpensive clothing that produced lots of compliments from family and friends. Also, a trip to the fabric store was precious one on one time with Mom! She was my first sewing teacher, collaborator on projects and biggest supporter. I can still hear her say practice makes perfect. And practice I did making clothing, costumes, bridal, window treatments and quilts for family, friends and clients. Eventually I met another teacher, Grace Auditore, who was the retired director of the Auditore School of Design in New York. I met Grace when she was in her mid-eighties and whenever she talked about her school, pattern design, her books, you could hear the excitement in her voice and see her eyes light up and sparkle. She'd say "I just love it!" Thanks to Grace and my Mom, I've been practicing my craft for over 40 years and have taught others to sew over the past 25. I still enjoy completing a sewing project, but especially enjoy teaching others this tremendous skill. So recently, I've taken some of my designs for kids wear and turned them into patterns. Making patterns for kid wear is almost as much fun as the kids themselves and I get to teach at the same time. It doesn't get any better than that!
