Uncle Bob's 85th bday gift

Project Description

What are you most proud of? Allowing my Aunt's gorgeous piece to see the light of day. I wonder how many others have these amazing UFOs done by relatives that never get finished. Let's dig through their piles and allow them to shine! Personally, I love the way I was able to compliment her design. What advice would you give someone starting this project? If you are lucky enough to know someone with UFOs, ask if you can finish them. Honor their work, but put your 'spin' on it, too. It's a WIN WIN.

What you will need

  • The center Ocean Waves was hand pieced by my wonderful Aunt Dorothy many years ago. It went into a 'UFO" box
  • and when I found it
  • I knew it would be the perfect gift for my Uncle's birthday. I added the borders and did the quilting. Cotton pieced top
  • cotton backing fabric
  • Warm and Nat. batting and Glide thread.
