Uganda dream

What are you most proud of? This is the first time I have added beads to my quilts. Wasn't sure how to do it but discovered it wasn't rocket science :) What advice would you give someone starting this project? Listen to Carol Annwhen she tells you the distance between the stitching... 3 inch is probably far more easy than what I did and it'll give you more options for your quilting

Q&A with moniek

Carol Ann Waugh asked:
This is truly a piece of art. Thanks so much for sharing! One suggestion I have for the black background is to use black thread and quilt it densely. This will pop your other pieces off the background and not detract from your lovely composition and colors. I'm assuming you will add fleece and backing to the black background, right?
moniek answered:
I have addedhave used very thin fusible batting (haven't been able to locate fusible fleece around where I live yet) and than got stuck on the quilting. I'll go for the black and show you the end result in a few days. I did put on the varigated thread and didn't like it so black it is. Thanks for the advice a backing
tamcat asked:
You did a great job on this, I'm still struggling with mine. Love the colors.
moniek answered:
Thanks. I found it a bit tricky as well, I just kept adding bits till I thought it was finished (stitching, couching, beads) but it took a while for me to be happy with what I made. I put mine aside for 2 days and when I looked at it again it looked better, sometimes it's good to have a bit of distance from your work to give yourself a fresh look. I'm sure your's will come out beautiful in the end!
