Two-Loves

Project Description

What are you most proud of? With piecing, nearly all of my points matched up and my blocks and finished quilt top were much more "square" than my previous quilts. I'm also really pleased with the 2" diagonal quilting accented with the spiral triangle quilting I did on each of the 4 sides. I debated long and hard about how to quilt it and was uneasy about trying something that I was just making up as I went along. I learned a lot making this quilt and feel my piecing / quilting skills improved tremendously. What are you most proud of? Q&A with grammamaggie

JBlixt asked:
Beautiful work, I imagine your son will be honored to receive this quilt.
grammamaggie answered:
Thank so much! He was indeed very happy with it - I got the biggest "mom" hug :)
Archangels1946 asked:
Sorry, I just read your information about the quilt and where the design came from. Duh, I asked the question before I read it. It is beautiful.
grammamaggie answered:
Thanks for your comments! Happy you found the pattern info. I began with making strip sets from the Quilting Quickly 2 class and enjoyed it so much. I'm planning to make another strip quilt from the class instructions - it's SO quick, easy and gratifying!
Scheri Manson asked:
What a beautiful creative quilt top and back. Thank you so much for sharing this project it really makes me pause and think about the next quilts I have planned. Maybe I need to spend more time on the "quilt story". I need to better incorporate not only finished size and color but the individuals lifestyle, Thank you so much!
grammamaggie answered:
You made my day, Scheri! Making this quilt for my son was a wonderful experience. I also have a themed quilt planned for both my daughter and son-in-law. In my case, finding the perfect fabric(s) or the perfect pattern has sparked the thought process for each I have planned. I know I can't create a meaningful theme for each quilt I make, but I am finding it to be a lot of fun to try!
