Tree Wall Hanging

What are you most proud of? It doesn't really show up in the photos but I really love how puffy the leaves are. I also like the raw edge effect around the tree trunk and leaves. I have never done it before because I thought I preferred smooth edges, but I think I will definitely do it again.

You Can Make This

Sarah Becker made Tree Wall Hanging with:

  • Commercial print quilters cotton fabric
  • thread
  • reclaimed woolen blanket for batting and heavy fusible interfacing to stiffen up flimsy tree trunk and make it easier to work with!

Q&A with Sarah Becker

Northwoods Pat asked:
Love it - especially how you did the leaves!
Sarah Becker answered:
Thank you, ?
Pieceful1 asked:
Sarah this is absolutely beautiful!
Sarah Becker answered:
Thank you!! :)
Surfside6 asked:
I cannot even imagine doing this. Quite a feat
Sarah Becker answered:
Hahaha, it is really not har or time consuming, all it takes is a bit of practice using a darning foot, if you haven't done a lot of that before. I can be really lazy about ruling a d measuring so this sort of thing is great in that you can just slap a bit of fabric on and sew it down! You should give it a go, if you make a mistake you don't need to worry about unpicking, you can just stick something else on top of it!
