Tinker Totes

Project Description

What are you most proud of? Tara's excellent instructions! And she is a delightful teacher. And that I finished in time for the baby shower! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Just take it one step at a time and enjoy the process; before you know it, you're done. And...buying that Juki sewing machine was a good investment. It just walked through all the leather.

What you will need

Q&A with Maxie Makes

Tara Rebman asked:
I love the long strap! This will make a great diaper bag!
Maxie Makes answered:
Tara, I have a quilt shop and am a Craftsy Affiliate store. I took my bags there today for display, so I think you'll get some new students. One of my customers saw it and said that she had just signed up for your class! Thanks again for a great class.
Kamloops Kim asked:
great idea adding the second, longer strap. I'm just finishing a second one and will do the same idea. Just love a good idea and this class had so many of them.
Maxie Makes answered:
Thanks! You know, if I had attached them with a swivel hook on a tab (instead of the strap attached directly to the tab) I could have removed the leather strap for washing. The faux leather on the bottom is washable. Oh well, I'll just make another bag and do it that way next time!
Cathie W asked:
I so love the colors of your bag. So beautiful!! What did you use for binding?
Maxie Makes answered:
Thank you, Cathie! I just used one of the little cotton prints in the bag for the binding. It is "Barefoot Roses" from Free Spirit Fabrics.
