Tinker Tote

Project Description

What are you most proud of? Finishing the bag! I had a few problems along the way. I quilted one whole side and cut it out only to find I had cut it the wrong way round so had to completely re-do it! (The leftover bits went into making the flap and a journal cover so were not wasted!) I followed the instructions very closely after that! Also, I used only fabric that was in my stash as I was determined not to buy anything new. I even managed to do all the fiddly bits. I used some PVC on the base instead of leather and it worked well apart from not being able to quilt it, but it will be very practical for me. I admit I cheated a little and used purchased ready made binding (this was the only extra thing I purchased) as I was running short on time when I got to that stage, but I am still really pleased with the result. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Follow the lessons really carefully. I viewed the lessons whilst I worked alongside Tara over the trickier parts and this really worked for me.

Forgot to mention earlier that it looks like you used scraps from your beautiful quilt.
Judith R answered:
Yes I did. I tried to use lots of my scraps. This is a great project for clearing the stash!
