The Craftsy Block of the Month

What advice would you give someone starting this project? This was more difficult than I expected. Color is my weakness. Scrapy is scrapy but you still have to make the colors work for block to look good I think.

Q&A with Betty Johnson

Pat Sloan asked:
love your blocks!
Betty Johnson answered:
Thanks Pat, happy quilt block making!
DRH asked:
Your blocks came out just super GREAT! I like your use of colour!
Betty Johnson answered:
thanks, it was crazy
Surfside6 asked:
Hi - loved your blocks. I read your comment above about the scrappy part and I could not agree more. Crazy quilts and scrappy are so out of my comfort zone. I guess it's my bookkeeping background! Anyway, I showed two people my March block and you could see they thought it was "wrong" because the center was two different sizes triangles. They are used to my much more structured work (and they don't know a thimble from a needle). When you have to explain art, it never goes well does it.? Keep up the good work and we shall both have to try to free up our sense of squares and rectangles. I remember hearing someone made a strip quilt by putting all the scraps in a paper bag and working with whatever way they came out one by one. Holy Cow. That would kill me.
