Project

The Big EZ max quilting

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I decided to use this quilt as intensive FMQ practice & I do believe that I may actually getting better. I also wanted more experience in just moving the quilt around for FMQ & boy did I get that! I also discovered how great is was to use my Bernina 830 to do the quilting as it has a lot of space to the right of the needle (12 glorious inches). What advice would you give someone starting this project? Be sure to stop & reposition your hands as needed - it really helps with the control of the movement. I don't think I would do this much quilting on something I wanted to be soft & cuddly - all that thread makes it a little stiff. I'm still trying to decide if I should do circles in the sashing as it looks kind of wrinkly or just let it be. I did use a 6" ruler in the tiles section & it really helped me get straighter longer lines.

What you will need

  • Cotton fabrics
  • Isacord thread
