Q&A with Jjjki

Darns asked:
These are great!
Jjjki answered:
Thanks! I embellished a number of black scarves with thermofax sceen leaves and Luminaire paint.
Queenderby asked:
Are the leaves stenciled on? Looks Great!
Jjjki answered:
Hi, The leaves were silk-screened on with Luminaire fabric paint. I also did some discharging.
Jane Dunnewold asked:
Gorgeous! Did you use real leaves to stamp?
Jjjki answered:
Hi Jane,
4bird2 asked:
I''m curious about "discharge." What does that mean?
Jjjki answered:
Discharging using a special bleaching agent that I get from Dharma Trading on the internet - called Dischage paste. It is think and you use it to remove color with silk screen, stencils, paint brushes, stamps, etc. I love how it reveals the colors underneath - the colors that combined to create the color you are discharging. It's another fascinating and magical process of textile art.
Lazy House Elf asked:
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing this. I'm hoping I can take this course. I've done some dyeing previously, However, this is more like I want to make.
Jjjki answered:
I purchased the leaf silk-screens from Marcy Tilton online. Silk-screens really add to your work.Thank you for your nice comment.
