Roundabout

Project Description

What are you most proud of? First time sewing partial seams - it was so much easier than I thought it would be! Also, first time trying a more creative quilting pattern rather than straightline grids. What advice would you give someone starting this project? For the pieced border, Carrie's directions have you sew together 10 inch strips and then cut that in half lengthwise for the 5 inch pieced border. She recommends sewing 1/8" from edges before attaching the border to prevent it from coming undone. I also sewed a line 1/8" from each side of the center BEFORE I cut it. If you want to try the curvy quilting line, just draw a line with a washable quilting pen from one of the corners at a 45 degree"ish" angle. Quilt on that line. Then just "eyeball" the distance as you echo quilt this line. Don't worry if it doesn't follow the line perfectly - it creates an undulating effect as you get to the edges.
