Roads Quilt

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I'm not a "quilter" and this was a huge project to tackle for my second quilt project ever. I'm proud for finally finishing it and being able to say that I made it all BY MYSELF. Even the quilting thanks to Ann Petterson's Quilting Course. I am the most proud of how much my son loves it and how special it makes him feel to see his name on the label and know that it was made especially for him. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Be patient. This is a long project. Be kind to yourself. No one will notice any of the mistakes. Remember who you are making it for. It's most important that it gets finished. You can see all steps I went through to get this project finished on my blog: http://sewfearless.com/2012/05/07/roads-quilt-finished/

What you will need

  • cotton fabrics
  • cotton batting

Q&A with Jodi Bonjour

Marg in Mirror asked:
Interesting quilt, Jody. What construction method did you choose?
Jodi Bonjour answered:
The roads are pieced, not appliqued. I got the pattenr from a book called "The Encyclopedia of Classic Quilt Patterns". I detail it in this blog post ->http://sewfearless.com/2011/11/16/mastering-curves-curved-quilt-piecing-and-curve-master-product-review/
