I always wanted to make a rainbow quilt and I love cats. So I bought this wonderful Rhoda Ruth Layer Cakes here on Craftsy. Scince I wanted to highligt the cats, I made my own Foundation Paper Piecing Pattern for the center of the quilt. I cut up the Layercakes and I added some boundles solids (from a Kit) and some pieces of another charm pack and made the top. I love how it turned out. The size is 72"x90". For me the designing and the piecing are the easy parts and I struggled a bit with the quilting. I was inspired by some cool tricks from the quilting classes. Quilting the Grid gave me the inspiration to quilt the squares like orange peels. Which brings the circle from the middle to the squares. As I learned from Angela Walters, I tried to highlight the cats in the prints by quilting around them.
