Project

R,W&B Swap

What are you most proud of? I increased the 6 inch pattern to a 7 inch pattern, then put it on point and added setting triangles. I need to make 12 inch finished blocks for the swap. This pattern (Spring Fling 2012 by Carol Doak) did not include a cutting list. I cut it apart and measured each piece, adding 1/2 inch all around to make the list myself. I had no problem covering each area including the seam allowance. The points came out great! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Don't be afraid and have fun! The more I do this the easier it gets. If you like the Mastering Foundation Paper Piecing class you might consider joining Carol's yahoo group. They're a fun bunch who are very helpful!

Q&A with NanaJeanFL

NanaJeanFL asked:
Although this is not a class project I learned all the skills here on Craftsy. I've really enjoyed Carol's way of doing PP. Along with other classes I now feel equipped to take on more PP challenges. I plan to post class projects in the future.
NanaJeanFL answered:
Thanks Ladymax! I think my next PP project will be a quilt. I bought some lovely fabric to use with a free pattern I received during a shop hop.
DeGramma asked:
Jean, thanks for all you feedback on this class. I haven't signed up for it yet, but loved the little bit of PP I did on 2012 BOM quilt with Amy Gibson. Would really like to get more aquainted with it, as it makes such perfect points in the blocks. Love your block, it really is lovely :)
NanaJeanFL answered:
Thank you DeGramma! You might want to check out Carol's yahoo group and her blog as well. She's a wealth of information and deserves her Queen of PP title.
happychica asked:
Not a fan of RW&B, myself, but this explodes with happy exuberance! Great piecing!
NanaJeanFL answered:
Why thank you! What a nice thing to say!
Darns asked:
Since you can clearly do PP so wonderfully, you are ready for any PP project that grabs you! I also like the fussy cut emblem. Great job!
NanaJeanFL answered:
Thx for the high praise Darns! It means a lot coming from you :D
Ladybev asked:
I looked and thought " Where did this idea come from?" Then I read all your info! It's beautiful & very patriot! What a great day to post it! Hope you had A Great Memorial Day!
NanaJeanFL answered:
Thanks much Ladybev! I did indeed have a great Memorial Day. I hope you did too!
