Quilt projects with my son Martin

Project Description

What was your source for this quilting project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo Kaleidoscope quilts by Paula Nadelstern Link to website or photo amazon.com/paula Nadelstern What are you most proud of? That my son was able and willing to take time out of his busy ranch job in Elkton to work on these wall hangings. He was a first-time quilter and took to it like a duck to water. He has since given me all the things back and lives and works on a Pace Maker boat in a dock at Winchester Bay, OR. He no longer quilts sad to say. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Many do these types of art quilts. Just find a good book and start cutting and sewing the pieces up to suit you. There are NO rules here only basic quilting rules that MUST be followed with regards to seams and sewing them well. ENJOY!

What you will need

  • We used many hand painted fabrics and 2-tones but mostly hand dyed fabrics and anything that was artsy. Martin and I worked on these together as I did all the quilting while he worked on the tops. I supplied all the materials. They were all made on a 1909 Singer Treadle machine and a Singer Red Eye from 1919. I donated the Red Eye to charity.
