Purple scraps another shared project

Project Description

What are you most proud of? The most fun part of sharing a project is swapping blocks. For example: I make 24 and give half to her and vice versa. So our quilts have the same colors and fabrics in them. The joy is seeing what each of us have done with our blocks the following year when we have our show and tell. Our quilts are to die for, such beauties that transpire from exactly the same materials is truly amazing. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Find a quilting buddy and put your heads together to decide on colors, fabrics, and patterns, not necessarily a pattern from a book, but two blocks that work together. Decide on who will make each block or if you make both and share half. We've done it both ways. It forces you to be creative when you finally receive all you need to put together a quilt. The borders, sashing, backing and binding are your own decision. My quilt buddy and I live in different countries and only see each other during the summer. Sometimes our exchange is made through the mail. It is so exciting.
