Primary Stitch & Slash and Confetti

Project Description

What are you most proud of? Making myself stop - I'm excited to have two projects; one to make a purse and the smaller "confetti" fabric I'll use to make a case for my paper-piecing tools. Suzanne gave each of her friends a piece of her hand-dyed navy fabric and we decided to use it in a Challenge. Since I lost so much of it when I placed it on the top of my Stitch & Slash sandwich, I was so happy Carol Ann gave us a second project to use up our scraps! So special. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Making the "confetti" fabric is certainly theraputic...but next time I'll cut up the bits a little larger. Have more than one bobbin ready!

What you will need

  • batiks
  • hand-dyed navy fabric from Suzanne C
  • paper
  • Sari yarns and rayon embroidery threads
  • fusible interfacing for Confetti fabric and fusible fleece for Stitch & Slash.

Q&A with Pam Sews

Love seeing the two pieces side by side. Who knew how different they would be using the same fabrics. Loved you use of the strip to add a strong focal point. Thanks for sharing!

Plan is to make a bag to take to the Houston Quilt Show - hope you will be around after your classes since I can't arrive until Friday! :-(
