Polka Dot Pinwheel

Project Description

What are you most proud of? All the points and its flat as a pancake! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Lay out the entire block and take a photo to use as reference when assembling the block.. This block can also be done without "Y" seams as taught by Kimberly Einmo in Craftsy' Magic Jelly Roll class - the Lonestar lessons. I would use "Y" seams when using a print background fabric but not when using a solid.

What you will need

  • Cotton fabric & thread

Thank you trymyr18! Just saw your 2012 BOM - its wonderful! I especially like your paper pieced blocks. I still have to assemble and quilt mine.
Pam NZ asked:
Oh Jean, I absolutely LOVE this one!!! You clever thing!
NanaJeanFL answered:
Thanks Pam! Glad you like it :D
QuiltDude asked:
Polka dots in rainbow colors? A perfect match! This is a great block. You are so much more dedicated and disciplined than I, for I gave up on this year's BOM, but your color choices are making me think I should give this another chance. Naaaah, I will just admire your blocks. :-) :-) :-)
NanaJeanFL answered:
Why thanks Dude for your kind words! As for this year's BOM - did you get stuck anywhere. Or do you just not like the blocks. You can always skip the ones you don't like and rearrange them at the end. I'm already thinking of moving things around. Not sure about all those flying geese and the HST border.... We'll see. Hope to see more of your work soon. You make the coolest stuff!
