Piano Keys

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I am proud of making this without a pattern, and of expanding my FMQ options. I know my pebbles aren't perfect, but they are improving, and it was so much fun. Quilting such small areas was possibly not the best choice for using this stitch for the first time, but I really like the way it looks. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Go for it!

What you will need

  • Cotton fabric
  • batting
  • thread

Ann Petersen asked:
Wow! So very much fun and your pebbles are great. I never have felt they all need yo be perfect circles when being used as a fill stitch! The organist should love this and it makes such a nice modern quilt. I'm always thrilled when a you dent uses these techniques in their real quilts. Excellent job,!

Pebbles aren't suppose to be perfect so don't stress. They are more interesting if they are of different sizes. I saw the photo before reading your comment and my thought was how wonderful your pebbles are.
Sue P. answered:
Thanks, Deb.

Love your design and the colors, as well as your FMQ. Beautiful quilt.
Sue P. answered:
Thanks! I'm bummed because our organist quit under very uncomfortable circumstances in January. I hope all my work isn't in a trash heap!
