Paper-Pieced Log Cabin Rose Garden

Peggys' last lesson in this class gave me the inspiration for this quilt. I knew I could do this one - along with my overflowing scrap drawer. My scrap drawer is still overflowing!! Mimi Deitrichs' Finishing School Class gave me the inspiration for the binding. I made a flanged binding as an experiment, and was very pleased with how it turned out. I loved making this quilt more than any I've made so far. It put a smile on my face everytime I looked at it. I did not make this as a Charity quilt. I intended on keeping it for myself. But, in October, 2017, I decided to part with it and donated it to Las Vegas Strongs' First Responders who were on duty that terrible night. I pray the one who received this quilt smiles each time they look at it, and their heart heals a little more each time they are wrapped in it. -From a retired nurse, who has a little PTSD herself.

Q&A with BettiesMom

Peggy Martin asked:
LOVE your rose quilt! Did you make it from leftover scraps? This is the largest rose quilt that I have seen from the class - great work!
BettiesMom answered:
Thank you! The blocks themselves were all from leftover scraps. I purchased fabric for the sashing, border, binding, and back from the Boundless collection. The only thing consistent in the blocks are the centers. Each rose center is the same pink print - also from my scraps. I refer back to your class over, and over. I love it!
