Needle Turn Applique

What are you most proud of? The stitching turned out really well with little to no bad stitches showing. Using Sarah's techniques this went pretty quickly and was really enjoyable. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Using the foil to turn the circle shapes is a good idea, but I had trouble with the small circle shapes. I went back to basting outside of the template line and pulling the thread up to pull the fabric around a card stock template. I then ironed the shape and removed the card stock before applying to base fabric. I used the glue I had on hand which was a fabric glue. The problem is that it was a permanent glue. I won't be doing that again.

Q&A with ramonamp

Kaysharon asked:
Nice applique. Here is a tip: when appliqueing a light fabric on a light background, embroider around the edge of the applique to make it standout.
ramonamp answered:
I actually went arount the light green leaves with a darker green blanket stitch. Really liked the difference. This piece is definitely going to be a learning piece with some rough places, but it has been really fun. Thanks for the tip.
