Project

Logan's Quilt

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I'm proud that I finished this quilt and sent it to Logan in time for his birthday. I tried a lot of things I hadn't tried before. Some worked well, some could have been better. It was a learning process for me, too. I experimented with several ways of machine quilting the panel. The little blocks which appear "wavy" were done before I tried the walking foot. Next time, I'll do that part differently. An explanation - no special reason for stitching any lines other than those surrounding the large land masses except that I tried to avoid stitching over the flags on the sides and bottom of the panel. What advice would you give someone starting this project? You can't learn how to machine quilt until you are willing to put the quilt sandwich under the sewing maching needle and stitch.

What you will need

  • Most
  • but not all
  • of the fabrics are from "What a World" fabric collection by Jill McDonald for P&B Textiles. This quilt is a small version of a larger pattern available from P&B Textiles.
