Lake Blues Greens Quilt

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I purchased the fabric one week ago, and today the quilt is on the frame ready to start long arm quilting tomorrow. I plan to practice ruler work on this quilt and stitch a variety of different patterns on each block (like I did on the Science Friday quilt). I picked a small print ivory cotton fabric for backing and to make the backing a bit wider--I added a strip of the left over quilt squares. Sorry, I forgot to photograph it, but will show it to you when I finished quilting. I'll be posting more photos as I go--showing progress of the different patterns on the squares as I quilt them. What advice would you give someone starting this project? QUILTED BODY PILLOW: There are a number of quilt squares leftover to make a big body pillow to go with this modern quilt. If you want to make one too,--remove seam stitches on one end and hand sew two brand new pillows together to make the body pillow.

What you will need

  • Various blue green cotton print fabrics (15)
  • ivory sash and border.

Q&A with Shoestring

Jennifer Thomas asked:
This looks like it is going to be splendorous! I can't wait to see it quilted. Lovely colors.
Shoestring answered:
Hi Jennifer! Nice to hear from you. Perhaps it would be okay with you if I quilt the spoon carved flower pattern you designed? By the way--I love your Americana Bandana project.
