January BOM #1

Project Description

What are you most proud of? Getting started with my January blocks in October, even though I was ten months behind! I managed to make the first ten blocks (January to May) in a week (which rather shows on some of the points - they were "flung" together!), and am now facing the other ten to try and catch up with everyone else. A bit worried though - the October ones look a bit scary! However, I'm sure Amy will show me precisely what to do and make it all a "doddle"! I used three different prints in this block as I wanted it to be a little more interesting. I'm now toying with the idea of putting something into the middle to make it a bit more individual - a Suffolk Puff (YoYo) perhaps? If I do, I'll post a picture. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Never mind if you haven't even started when everyone else has just about finished - these blocks don't take long, and they're great fun. We're learning so much!

What you will need

  • Leftover cotton fabric from previous projects
  • mainly Fabric Freedom's "Pure Velvet".

Thank you - I don't think I've finished with it yet! (I try far too hard to "gild the lily" sometimes!).
