What are you most proud of? It's the second quilt I made, the first I designed, and my first brush with applique. The applique was what I found to be most challenging, especially since the batik I used for the weeds was quite densely-woven and stiff to turn under. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Ifyou want to make something similar to this and you want the shaded sea effect, get the turquoise from Sew Batik's shaded "Gradation" range. When you're cutting out the background pieces, be careful to place them so that the shading flows properly. Secure your embroidery thoroughly, since this is a child's quilt.
