Dyed Cotton Fabric and Old Linens

Project Description

What are you most proud of? The entire group because I began the process. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Just do it. The mistakes are not mistakes - you can use the fabric in some way and learn more. Write down what you do, take photos and cut off pieces to attach to your records.

What you will need

  • The first group is mainly PFD muslin and broadcloth. I had some old cotton linens - dish towels that were thick with texture and some hankies that I dyed to see how they would come out. I first used the MX dyes as is then I tried to make green. The boysenberry ones are from the jar. Still learning.

Q&A with Ruthann FS

Kathy Riggs asked:
Love these. I need to hunt in thrift stores after seeing yours. The ones with the edging are my favorites, plus the center one.
Ruthann FS answered:
Thank you! The old linens were inexpensive to learn on - from garage/estate sales.
