Q&A with knox6306

artbythebay asked:
Why don't you want a solid border? There's so much going on with this design, I think solid would be great. Or how about a striped border--pick up what you did for the partial seams blocks gradated from red to white-- they look fabulous. Whatever you decide-- it's fabulous!
knox6306 answered:
I'll definitely use solids through the border, but I want to use up some of the scraps I have left from making the quilt. I like your idea of a graduated border. I'll have to play with it. Thanks!
SuperNana asked:
I love the colors and the layout, but am confused as to how you got all the blocks to have to top completed. Can you share? I'm struggling with colors and would like to work ahead if possible too....
knox6306 answered:
If you look at the January pdf file she gives a picture of her completed sample, a template is also in there in black and white that tell you the final size of each block (finished, not including the seam allowance). Laura identified the spacers and what size they each needed to be. She said that she was going to tell us another way to put it together as well. Since I have two little ones, I tend to procrastinate on the part of the project that takes the longest - quilting. I opted to do the design as she had it in the pdf file so I can have it done for Christmas this year.
