Brown Gradient quilt

Project Description

What are you most proud of? Being my own idea and the fact that I love to work with gradient fabric. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Very simple pattern using strips with some embroidery. Be daring. Good quilt to start with.

Q&A with Pjmlmm

Brook asked:
Wow! Not sure how you did the leaf thing, but this is a stunning quilt.
Pjmlmm answered:
Thank you. The leaves are embroidered. (machine embroidered.)
Wez asked:
I love the quilt. What kind of fabric did you use?
Pjmlmm answered:
Thank you and it is all cotton. I had the fabric (subtle leaves for years and saved it because it was so pretty. I love leaves and use them whenever possible.
MOMof4 asked:
Could you post instructions? This is a BEAUTIFUL quilt!
Pjmlmm answered:
It's really a simple quilt. I cut 8.5" strips and 1.5" small strips. Sewed them together and then embroidered. You can make it any length and any width. For the scalloped edges, I just used a salad plate and drew around it. The binding was cut on the bias so that the curved area would lay flat. I embroidered the leaves after the top was finished. I's fun, fast and very easy.
CarolynWainscot asked:
very elegant, thanks for sharing
Pjmlmm answered:
Thank you Carolyn. Much appreciated.
