BOM October Circle of Geese

Project Description

What are you most proud of? That the points came out crisply. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Print an extra copy and use it to figure out the needed size of your fabric blocks. It would have been much more helpful if Amy had provided measurements for the different pieces - I had some issues at the beginning with using scraps that were a tiny bit too small.

What you will need

  • Painters Canvas by Laura Gunn
  • Pear Tree by Thomas Knauer
  • Too Muchery by Helen Dardik
  • and more.

Q&A with scourgeotheseas

scourgeotheseas answered:
Thank you!
Cat Sultan asked:
I like that bit of helpful advice you offered. One of the things that I like to avoid with the whole paper piecing thing is guessing (wrong sometimes!) or even way overestimating fabric shapes. I had come up with a way around that for my spider web block. And I was planning on making separate rough templates for the cutting stage of other pp blocks I'm getting ready to do in the near future.
scourgeotheseas answered:
I wish we had gotten a bit more guidance - my friend and I started out this block by underestimating, then way overestimating, in order to make the sizes work.
NanaJeanFL asked:
Love the way your background fabric adds even more movement to the flying geese. Well done!
scourgeotheseas answered:
Thanks! I'm hoping when it all gets together it's not too brown.
Candace in Fl asked:
Beautiful, I love that background fabric.
scourgeotheseas answered:
Thank you!
