Blooming NIne Patch

Project Description

What are you most proud of? The way the colors work together and that the quilt tells a story. In the center of the quilt there are 3 dragonflies. I call the quilt "Into the Night" because it tells the story of the colors in the dragonflies' day was they start out in the pink of the morning and move on into the dark purple of night. This is the second quilt I made. I had it professionally quilted by Judy Hall of Rockwall, TX. It is a king size. What advice would you give someone starting this project? You need to keep up with which fabric goes where. I was taught that the secret to a good blooming nine patch was the removal and the return of colors throughout the sections of the quilt. The colors bloom. Stay organized and you will have a lot of fun.

beautiful but looks really hard...love it...
tortugaquilter@gmail.com answered:
It is not as hard as it looks. You just need to make sure you label your stacks. If you make a fabric page noting which fabric is fabric 1,, 2, etc. and then keep everything organized it is pretty easy. Layout is on the diagonal. You make the nine patches with strips. You could always try a small one as a wall hanging.
Scrim asked:
that is really pretty, would like to try to it
tortugaquilter@gmail.com answered:
Go for it!
sewinggrammy asked:
Where can I find the pattern?
tortugaquilter@gmail.com answered:
Other than to say I believe if you google Blooming Nine Patch there may be a tutorial, or a free pattern I don't know where you could get the patern. I took this as a class and the instructor wrote out the pattern for us.
