Blooming Downunder

Q&A with ellequilt

Baka asked:
WOW! Beautiful. I want one! Please tell me where you got the pattern for this. I'm still a beginner, but I would love to try this one. How big is it. Again...beautiful!!!
ellequilt answered:
It's from a magazine called Downunder Quilts, the instructions were not that good. I basically made it a queen size, it's just bias appliqud stems and the flowers were made from a wedge ruler and appliqud to the centre. Then I added a border made from wedges again and then a final border to make it the size I wanted. Hope this helps you, it's fun to make! stems
grandmab asked:
Very striking with color. We need all the color we can get in rainy Washington state. Love it.
ellequilt answered:
Thank you, you should try living on the west coast of Scotland, it rains a lot here too!

This is quite amazing! So sunny and bright (I see your remark about the west coast of Scotland - the east coast of England hasn't been much better this year and we can all do with something like your quilt to cheer us up!)
ellequilt answered:
Thank you, I'm sleeping under this one at the moment, it certainly brightens up the dark mornings, days, nights ! lol
