Project Description

What are you most proud of? This is the first time I marked a FMQ pattern and attempted to actually follow the lines instead of doing a spontaneous all over FMQ design. I decided to do the Circle shapes individually instead of joining each of the circles with my quilting line. SO after completing a circle I would travel to the next circle without breaking my thread and then I cut the travel threads when done. I was able to do continuous FMQ stitching on the two sides next to the circles. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Fabric selection for this particular pattern is critical to the final look of the quilt. Test out various fabrics, lights/darks, prints/solids to determine what look you desire. The way the blocks are pieced and laid out next to each other will also determine the level of 3D effect you may achieve. Have fun!

What you will need

  • 100% Cotton BATIK fabrics + STONEHENGE as the light colored neutral on the backing.
