Autumn Leaves Mug Rugs

Project Description

What was your inspiration? I have loads of leftover bits and pieces from the autumn quilt I'm working on. I hate waste & I really need to take advantage of every opportunity to work on my FMQ skills, so this helped with both. Very quick and lots of fun to do, too. I got the leaf applique patterns by tracing around leaves I found in my yard. Feeling very frugal a the moment.

What you will need

  • Leftover scraps from my Autumn quilt.

Q&A with K Lee 2Strings

patz in suffolk asked:
Good for you - I hate waste! These mug mats are such a good idea - and pretty too!
K Lee 2Strings answered:
Thank you so much. I think I'll pull out the scraps and make coaster and mug rugs for those little Christmas gifts this year. They go so fast.
desna asked:
Wow!!! these are so wonderful and your quilting skills are brilliant love the feather quilting oh and the autumn leaves. Autumn is my favourite season, Im tempted to try to make something similar:)
K Lee 2Strings answered:
Oh, Thank you. You are so kind, but I'm afraid my free motion quilting has so far to go. As you see, there are no real closeups photos of the quilting. Maybe someday. I love autumn, too, but I do wish it didn't lead into the bitter wind and cold of winter.
Za Manaf asked:
are the fabrics Batiks? Theyare simply lovely :)
K Lee 2Strings answered:
Thank you. I'm so glad you like them. I haven't used any batiks in this project. The fabrics are a mix of bits and pieces added to my stash over the years and a few new fat quarters in oranges and gold.
Damsel asked:

Tanya W. asked:
