August Plunge Mug Rugs

Project Description

What was your source for this quilting project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo August Plunge Mug Rugs Link to website or photo www.craftsy.com/pattern/quilting/home-decor/august-plunge-mug-rugs/57918 What are you most proud of? The August mug rugs are done and it's only mid June! My goal to compete the series all the way through February by the end of the year is seeming less daunting. Once again, animating these little guys is the challenge. I've been more successful with some months than with others. I think this is likely a middle-of-the-road success, and that's just fine. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Cut carefully! I love two of my Gingher scissors for this job. One is a 5" fabric sheers, and the other is a 3 1/2" embroidery scissors with the thinnest, sharpest little blades you ever did see.

Q&A with K Lee 2Strings

abanabana asked:
It is such a joy to see your August episode of silhouettes! I will safe them all up (like a treasure) and do something really amazing with them at the end! Did you have the opportunity to read the picture book "Sofie's Masterpiece" by Eileen Spinelli? It's one of my favourite ones! It's full of love and creativity.
K Lee 2Strings answered:
Thanks, my friend. I do need to read this book and I'm adding it to my to-do list right now! Can't wait to see your amazing project, and I k now that you have the imagination to come up with something really and truly amazing.
Luanne G asked:
I love the simplicity of the silhouettes and the feel of movement.
K Lee 2Strings answered:
Thank you, Luanne. The movement is the trick, but they really are very simple to make.
The Patchsmith asked:
Another lovely pair of mug rugs that capture that sense of summer fun.
K Lee 2Strings answered:
Thank you so much! I'm so glad we're getting to know each other!\
