Army Dog Quilt

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I am most proud of the fact that this was my first full quilt that I made. I'd done some samplers that were wall hangings, and a couple of table runners, but nothing that could actually be used by a person. I know my brother will treasure this quilt, not just because I made it, but because it is so meaningful for him. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Don't skimp on the printing of the pictures. It makes a world of difference in the quality of the photos, which greatly affects how good your quilt looks. Also, it may look complicated, but I did the top of this quilt (from cutting to printing pictures to layout and piecing) in a single weekend. It is deceptively simple and fun!!

What you will need

  • I used a combination of batiks
  • patterned cottons
  • and some bandanas from an Army surplus online store. The batting is cotton.
