Amanda's Wedding

Project Description

What are you most proud of? The fact that I stuck to this project. There were times when I wanted to throw it out the window. The piecing was fun, but quilting a queen size on a standard machine is a challenge, but I stuck with it and I'm very pleased with the result. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Don't procrastinate as I did. I started this quilt in June for an August wedding. Plenty of time I thought. No, not for a project this large. The old "measure twice, cut once" couldn't have been more apropos with this project as I ended up having to square many blocks because of just a "tad" off.

What you will need

  • I used the Urban Odyssey line from Connecting Threads for this quilt. The colors were just what the bride to be wanted and the designs were just what I wanted. The thread was 50 weight from Connecting Threads and I used it in the bobbin also. The batting is from Warm Company which is terrific to work with.
