A Little Bit of Lime

Project Description

What was your source for this quilting project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo Mango Tango Link to website or photo laurieshifrindesigns.wordpress.com/welcome/# What are you most proud of? Laurie used a bias technique to make the little curved flanges in this design. I used the lime fabric for these. This is one on the only times I have ever used bias stems! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Once again use your imagination and have fun with the fabric!

What you will need

  • 100% cotton quilting fabric.

Q&A with Jackie Kunkel

Sue P. asked:
Love it! I wear lime al the time; next quilt, I NEED to quilt with it, and summer break is coming up! I have done bias in apparel, but not quilting. Is it appliqued?
Jackie Kunkel answered:
Thank you! No, the bias flanges are actually sewn right into the quilt. I think if you click on the last photo at the bottom and scroll over you may be able to see it better. Not sure though. Isn't lime a great color?
desna asked:

Perfect! I too love black & white with just a splash of color. Thinking of grays with orange accent.
Jackie Kunkel answered:
Thank you! If you like orange, check out my other black and white and orange project called Wheelies. This may be right up your alley... ;)
