2012 Block of the Month

Project Description

What are you most proud of? Making it from my stash, learning some new techniques, and then learning all the new FMQ techniques in the other Craftsy class that went along with it. Also just plain proud that IT'S DONE! My husband and I live full time in a motorhome, so my quilting "studio" is non-existent. When I'm sewing, there isn't much cooking getting done! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Stick with it - even when you don't really like the blocks you have to make. It's always good to try out new techniques!

What you will need

  • Fabric from my stash - and purchased cottons for the stashing and joining strips. Even the backing came from my stash!

Q&A with RV There Yet

mpac5000 asked:
Great job. It all came together really well. I had been trying to decide what to do for the joining strips and really like your use of a different fabric than the borders. Thanks for the inspiration.
RV There Yet answered:
I wasn't quite sure how it would all work out, but it all came together in the end. :) Good luck with yours!
L. Homer asked:

What a wonderful quilt....beautiful! I like the way you showed off each pattern block with a border and then separated each one with sashing. Each block is a work of art....Good job!
RV There Yet answered:
Thanks! I really enjoyed doing the quilting one block at a time! The framing and sashing - well, that was just following the directions from the "Free Motion Quilt a Sampler" class! :)
