Pattern Details

This is a simple but stunning quilt pattern, made up of 3 components: the main blocks, sashings and cornerstones. TRIPLE PLAY looks difficult, but each of the three parts that make up this quilt are easily pieced. The main blocks are made from half square triangles that are mass produced using a simple shortcut method and then turned this way and that to give you the block design. The sashing and cornerstones are each made up of just 5 simple parts pieced together to give your quilt that unique "Swiss cheese" look. Designed and written for the confident beginner, but with the look of something much more advanced. The pattern includes step by step instructions and plenty of diagrams to guide you through all the stages of piecing this quilt. Classic block. Quilts by Wing Designs
Welcome to our pattern store. Theresa Ward and Sharon Lorfing have both been quilting for over 20 years. Theresa is an award winning long-arm quilter, author and teacher and Sharon has worked and taught in local quilt shops in the Kansas City area over the last 15 years. In 2002, they started hosting their annual Mystery Quilt Lock-in and started designing their own patterns for it. Theresa loves the designing process and does the majority of the design work while Sharon loves the math, writing and editing involved in publishing their patterns. Their patterns became so well liked that others were asking how they could purchase them.....hence the beginning of Quilt Patterns by Wing Designs. Sharon and Theresa are now publishing not only their past mystery quilt patterns, but also other original designs and offering them for sale through various venues. They also do workshops and lectures with trunk shows displaying their various patterns. Because many of their patterns are designed initially as Mystery Quilts, they look much more difficult than they really are -- just to keep the quilt maker in suspense!! But because they have quilters with all degrees of skill taking their classes, the patterns are written with easy to follow cutting and sewing instructions and lots of good diagrams so that even a first time quilt maker can follow them with success.
