Pattern Details

On a warm summer night fairies enter the library. They flutter to the bookcase and shower pink fairy dust, flowers and swirls on the books they find there. This little quilt tells the story of their adventure. Quilt as you go techniques make this modern quilt fast and simple. Fairies on the Bookcase quilt is a wholecloth quilt, which means that you cut the front, back and batting all the same size as the finished quilt. The appliques are sewn with the fabric edges raw, exposed, no fusing necessary. It is designed to fray to the stitches, giving a textured, unaffected look to the quilt. The applique and the quilting are done at the same time. There is no binding; the edges are finished by sewing all around and then clipping the edges to fray. The patterns are full size, cut on the lines and tape together if needed. Every step in this quilt was planned to create the most beautiful quilt possible in the most efficient way possible. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY You should already know how to use a sewing machine Techniques used: free motion sewing, appliqu, rag quilt edging SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Completed size of quilt: approximately 40 x 35 inches (102cmx89cm)
