Pattern Details

The optical illusion of curves is the timeless appeal of the Storm at Sea quilt. Sewing with only straight seams, this dynamic design will teach you how to work with diamonds, rectangles and triangles. There are 3 sizes of blocks: 5" x 5"; 5" x 10"; and 10" x 10". If you have the Tri-Recs ruler by Darlene Zimmerman or the Perfect Rectangle ruler by Karen Montgomery, cutting the skinny triangles will be a cinch! All templates are included, and the option of foundation piecing the four boats is also available. (The boats can also be rotary cut and pieced). BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Accurately sew a 1/4" seam SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 43" x 43"

I have been designing and sewing for the camera for 25 years. As an editor with Quilt Magazine for 14 years I had hundreds of my quilts and patterns featured, with 2 dozen making the covers! I am prolific in my quilting, enjoy teaching my patterns in the classroom and on the written page.
