What nicer place to nest your cup and cookie than within the branches of this Seasonal Tree mug rug. Quick and easy to put together, this pattern uses quick-fuse applique and a fool-proof method of stitching the branches in place. Shown here with each leaf cut from a different fabric, this design would look equally good if the leaves were cut from different shades of the same colour. And the blackbird could become a bluebird, red cardinal or white dove. You are limited only by your imagination and the fabric scraps you have to hand. Suitable for hand or machine stitching, this functional little quilt would also make an ideal gift for a friend or relative. The easy-to-follow instructions, colour diagrams and full size applique sheets will ensure you have plenty of time to make one to keep and one to give away. So bring the seasons into your home with another pattern from the Patchsmith. This pattern is for personal use but permission is also granted to make this item to sell provided the item is handmade by you and you credit the Patchsmith for the design. No mass production allowed. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Experienced with quick-fuse applique SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Size before quilting: 9" x 6"

I am the Patchsmith. I patch, applique, sew and quilt. I have been creating a life of fabric, fun and friends for many, many years. I believe a pattern should be easy to follow, with clear diagrams and full-size templates. Value is also very important to me - both in terms of fabric wastage and to the buyer. Patchwork is about sharing and that is why all my patterns are priced for everybody to afford. To contact me visit my blog ( and click on 'About the Patchsmith' or email me at
