I needed a stocking stuffer for my teenage grandson, and finding a masculine mug rug pattern can be a bit of a trick. The colors and theme of this one should appeal to any football fan, whether male or female. This mug rug whips up quickly with very simple paper foundation piecing and a quickly fused football applique. Easy zigzag stitching around the applique pieces, a bit of embroidery for the laces, and it's done! Toss this on a desk for a bit of color and fun, or place it on a table in front of the TV. Top it with a snack and something to drink, lean back and enjoy the game. The pattern contains full size templates for the football, a photocopy of the layout, and a full size paper piecing pattern. Instructions are clear and accompanied by photographs. Instructions for paper piecing are not included. If you are unfamiliar with this piecing technique you can find numerous tutorials online. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have though email or on my Facebook page. When I retired from a lifetime of teaching in 2007, I was worried that I'd quickly get bored. That concern didn't last long at all. I was thrilled to discover that there really is life outside of the classroom. I spend parts of most of my days indulging in my favorite hobbies of quilting and sewing. I started designing patterns as an experiment, and no one was more surprised than I was to find that other people liked my little designs. I'm a teacher at heart, so I do try to write my patterns in such a way that beginning quilters can follow them. I include lots of details, photos, and little informative notes. I make myself easily available to my customers, and I respond to all questions as quickly and as thoroughly as I can. Contact Information: Blog:, Facebook Page:, Email:
