PATTERN DETAILS

Happy fabrics combine with very sharp points achieved only by foundation paper piecing. While this is not for the beginning quilter, it is achievable for those who are confident in their paper piecing skills. Try this using a black background fabric for more drama. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Must have knowledge of paper piecing; sew an accurate 1/4" seam SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 8" blocks; 48" X 60" quilt

  • Supplies Needed to make quilt as shown: 1-1/2 yard large floral border print 1-1/4 yd cream solid for blocks 7/8 yd small blue floral for block backgrounds 5/8 yd dark pink solid for blocks 5/8 yd green solid for blocks 7/8 yd lime green setting triangles 1/8 yd red mini print for block circles 1/3 yd stripe for inner border 5/8 yd blue and green print for block circles and binding ***1/2 yard lightweight interfacing 3 yards backing 52" x 64" Foundation paper (bring a tablet of cheap newsprint, 9 x 12 kiddie pad, so we can needle punch foundations) Template material (freezer paper works well) Thread to match fabric for appliqu (block centers) Basic sewing and cutting supplies (mats, cutters, rulers, thread, scissors, pencil, etc) Add-a-Quarter ruler, either the 6" or 12" size, is strongly recommended
