Here's a tutorial for a quillow that's big enough to really wrap up in! My husband's been asking for years for a quillow that'll fold into a bed sized pillow, but that's also big enough to cover up with. What's a Quillow? It's a quilt with a pocket, that folds up into a pillow. If you're like my family, there's always a quilt or twelve in your living room. A Quillow is a great way to make a quilt and be able to store it right on your couch! And when it's unfolded, there's that awesome pocket to tuck your feet into. This pocket's big enough for a cat too (jus ask my husband how I know that!) This is a Quilt As You Go strip quilt, so it's meant to be pretty simple. There's only one block needed for this pattern, and you can make any block you choose. NOTE: The Beetle block is not included, I don't have that ready for publishing yet. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Sewing a 1/4" seam Rotary cutting SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Approximately 74x80 (about 22x30 folded)

Supplies Needed

  • 3 yards black fabric
  • 3 yards of other colored fabric
  • 6 yards of batting

I'm Shannon, and I'd like to thank you for visiting my store! I am a full time electrical engineer and mom. I'm married with two boys. I'm also a quilter, pattern designer, and even a fabric designer! I've been quilting since the end of 2006, and designing patterns since 2010. I have a quite few completed so far, with several more in varying states of incompletion. I also have several fabric designs available from my spoonflower store. I am working on completing more patterns during my lunch hours at work, in the hopes that one day I can retire from engineering and stay home with my boys again. Your purchase of my patterns supports my ability to do that! So now you've seen my patterns! You can see my fabric designs at I have a collection called Monkeying Around that goes with my pattern of the same name. And feel free to visit my blog at
