PATTERN DETAILS

Garden Trellis is an original quilt pattern for a table runner or wall hanging and six placemats with a "stained glass" look, made without using bias tape. Choose a colour-way and collect fabrics in a variety of shades from light to dark; batiks or tone on tone prints work well. Extra shades may be used to add interest to the optional pieced border. This runner can also be made using pre-packaged 2 1/2" strips. The addition of the placemats requires more yardage than is provided in the pre-packaged strips. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Intermediate quilting skills including an accurate scant 1/4" seam SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 16" x 40 1/2" runner 12 1/4" x 17 1/2" placemats

Recommended with this pattern

  • 2 1/4" strip very light (innermost square/lightest shade)
  • 3/8 yd or .4 m light
  • 1/2 yd or .5 m medium-1

Hi! I am Janet Barker from Calgary, AB. I have been quilting for 16 years and have been designing my own quilt patterns for about 9 years. At the request of my guild, I started publishing my patterns in 2011. My pattern testers, customers and students have been very happy with their results using my new patterns. I love seeing another quilter's version of my designs! My patterns often incorporate completely original blocks, or at the very least new twists on standard blocks. In addition to standard piecing, I have three other types of designs - folded back bias curves (sometimes called Cathedral Windows curves), geometrics using "grout", and tessellations. So far I have not incorporated curved piecing or applique, but that may come! I have an engineering degree and am a retired geophysicist; perhaps that is why I love the geometry of quilting! I hope that you will enjoy stitching up some of my designs. Visit me on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/JB.QUILTDESIGNS Wholesale inquiries welcome.
