This quilt was inspired by a set of vintage string-pieced stars I received from my husband's grandmother. The blocks are 22" square and I've included 3 layouts from the 72" one in the photo to smaller versions that would be perfect for wallhangings or crib quilts. It's a great project to teach grandchildren to use a machine -- they can create the string-pieced units and you can make the stars! Best of all, you may not need to buy any fabric -- it may already be in your stash!! BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Need to understand y-seam piecing SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Varies. The block is 22" square and the quilt in the photo is 72" square.
