New Pieced-Strings Series 2015 Each new block will be available free for the month it is posted. Visit the blog for more on this quilt block. Make just one or collect all six designs in this series to make a wall-hanging quilt. Sometimes, we just need a quick project to be able to just "go sew something". So why not dig into your scrap basket to accomplish this simple task with this quilt block. It finishes at 10.5" x 10.5"; and will show you that your uninteresting scraps can still become beautiful projects. This 3-page PDF pattern has colored illustrations, clear instructions, and full-sized templates for the applique process. Appliques for this pattern are reversible, making it easy to trace onto the fusible web. However, they can be used in either orientation. Use my fabric choices as your guide and have fun with this project. Note: Trees are made from a two-inch square cut into two triangles. Or use triangle scraps from other projects. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Some experience using a sewing machine, basic knowledge of fusible applique, and using rotary cutting tools. This is a small project that can be mastered in a short period of time. If you still need more instruction; check out quilting books that teach these methods. SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Quilt size: approximately 10.5" x 10.5"
